Reviews

Marina Cafe and Bar is such a gorgeous place. We came here for Father’s Day lunch. Despite being busy, we were welcomed warmly by the staff and our food came quickly. We tried lots of different things from the menu. The pizza was delicious and the kids loved the fish and chips but my chicken burger was the highlight for me.

It has a great vibe, good music playing, happy staff and in a superb location. We arrived by boat and moored at the marina right next to the restaurant, which made it all the more special. Cockatoo Island is wonderful for a family day out and we can’t wait to return soon.

Mel and Dave looked after our family and friends celebrating my Wife’s 40th Birthday. There was no fuss and everything was very well organised. The location was brilliant! Some of our guests hadn’t seen Cockatoo Island before so was an adventure for them and their kids. Highly recommended for a celebration, lazy Sunday afternoon or simply an adventure for a young family. Food was great for a party.

CRAIGMAVERICK

The Marina Cafe & Bar on Cockatoo Island, has a simple great menu and the pulled pork wraps are so yummy and tasty…The coffee is also amazing.
It’s a great beer garden, cafe very casual to enjoy the atmosphere of an old island that used to maintain ships. The cafe owner Melissa is a very friendly lady and the staff are lovely, (met her for the first time and enjoyed our little chat). I would recommend this place to everyone and especially if you want to bring your overseas/interstate visitors, its only a ferry ride and great views.

MIZZA9

We stopped here midway through the self-guided walking tour for lunch.

There are a limited choices on the island Dash two and this was one of them. I had fish and chips which were quite good and my wife enjoyed a toasted ham and cheese wrap. The ambience is nice, particularly on a sunny afternoon, but you must fend off the seagulls who are used to picking up the scraps.

We stopped in here for brunch during a recent visit to Cockatoo Island. It was a quiet day, and we almost had the very pleasant cafe area to ourselves. Not much to complain about at all: the view and overall ambience is lovely and the service was fine and prompt. Breakfast rolls and wraps were sustaining, the carrot cake nice and moist, and the coffee was good, too. My only complaint is the coffee is only available in takeaway cups, even if you’re having a sit-down meal. Not a good look at most times, let alone at a UNESCO-listed World Heritage Site.

Only 8 minutes by fast ferry from Barangaroo, Darling Harbour , what a gorgeous part of Sydney with amazing views of the harbour and the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The staff are very friendly, great atmosphere, we will definitely be back the food is delicious.

The container bar that serves locally brewed beer from Byron Bay on tap is a hit!
